Porto Azzurro is the second busiest after Portoferraio Elba and is a seaside town, nestled in a large natural harbor in the open Gulf of Mola. "Life" takes place around a small square surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops and is always lively. Arriving from the sea is strong imposing San Giacomo, the legacy of Spanish rule and now home to the penitentiary.
