S. Piero

A small hill town 225 m above sea level. The granite caves are renowned throughout the island, and were exploited since ancient times. The granite is found in abundance on the streets of the small town center. About 3 km from the town on the road for M. Perone are the remains of a Roman church and the S. Giovanni Tower.
